Exhibition Preview: Light & Shadow

Our New Exhibition Opens 1 March

We are delighted to announce Light & Shadow, a group exhibition bringing together six artists whose practices — across painting and photography — explore the elemental conditions of light: its presence, its absence, its transformation of matter.

The exhibition runs from 1 March to 31 May 2025, in the East Wing of Luminary Gallery.

Works in the Exhibition

Elena Vasquez presents Sirocco and Lluvia de Luz — two paintings from her ongoing investigation into atmospheric light and the sensory experience of landscape. These works, painted from memory of her residency in the Tabernas Desert, have a fierce luminosity that fills the room.

Lars Andersson shows three large-format photographs from his architectural series, including the now iconic Brutalist Dawn — the Barbican at 5:47am, before the city wakes. Shot on 4×5 film with a twenty-minute exposure, the print transforms a familiar London landmark into something utterly unfamiliar.

Marcus Webb's Tide and Signal anchor the exhibition with their quiet, elemental authority. Webb's layered oil-and-wax surfaces demand sustained looking: the work reveals itself slowly, over time.

Opening Event

The private view is on Thursday 27 February, 6–9pm. Please contact us to register your attendance.

The exhibition is open Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–6pm. Admission is free.
